Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Sr. PrincipleSoftware Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida. Essential Functions: Develop, modify, and maintain hard, real-time embedded software development for flight/safety and mission-critical applications using software engineering best practices and standards Participate in the full lifecycle of software development to include C++ coding to flight/safety critical requirements Design documentation and support for program reviews We offer flexible work arrangements, great learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment. MELENG SFWAS Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and9 years of experience in software engineering OR Masters degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and7 years of experience in software engineering PhD degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in software engineering Experience developing software/writing code in C/C++ An active, in-scope Secret Level DoD Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Experience in object-oriented analysis and design Experience with Agile software development Experience with VXWorks and RTOS development Experience with VectorCAST Experience developing software for embedded systems Experience with automation Experience with Python or similar scripting languages Knowledge of high assurance software, flight critical software (DO-178), ARINC standards, CMMI (3-5), hardware/software interfaces, programming of embedded processor utilizing Real Time Operating System (RTOS), real-time and post-processing data analytics, object-oriented programming, and design patterns Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
