Are you living your lifes work Position Description: Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including coding, testing, debugging and installing to support the Department of Dermatology client/server software applications and databases. Provide 2nd/3rd level support for other Department software. Must have strong user interface design skills and be able to effectively translate user requirements into professionally designed and implemented solutions. Must use prior knowledge, problem solving skills, research, and internal and external IT resources to independently and collaboratively resolve complex problems. Analyze user requirements and needs to provide recommendations and solutions. Act as customer/user advocate. Follow and ensure that both Department of Dermatology and UPHS IT policies and standards are maintained. Minimum Requirements: BS or BA Degree in IT or AA or AAS Degree in IT and minimum of 2 years directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and experience.Skills Requirements:PHP, Flash, C#/C++/C, Java, Visual Basic, SQL, MySQL, Unix Shell, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, XMLWeb Application Development (ASP .NET & J2EE), SourceSafe, NetBeansAdobe web development suiteLinux operating environmentScriptingGUI Design & DevelopmentRelational Database DesignIndependently analyze and solve complex technology problemsEffectively interact and work with all levels of personnel, including: IT staff, consulting staff, clinicians, administrators, clerical staff, external consultants, and others as requiredEffectively communicate problems, status updates, and work issuesProactively identify potential problems and possible solutionsIdentify and use appropriate resources as needed for problem resolution, projects, and data gatheringPossess current knowledge of systems and technology in use throughout departmentMaintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies and recommend as appropriateStrong self-directed time management skillsAnalyze need for new equipment and tools, providing appropriate justifications when necessaryEvaluate and answer user requests for data and informationProficient at creating data queries for user requestsUser advocateMaintain various servers, workstations, and related systemsMonitor system performanceDevelop, maintain, and monitor data back upsPerform other duties as required Additional Information:We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
